Another good treat to the Indians from the chevrolet family which promises that even attractive sedans can be bought within the budget now.. After repeated styling changes done to the Sail UVA finally the GM engineers decided to join a boot to the hatchback and believe me when i say it have just worked fine for them.. The Sail Sedan launched in the China Auto Show in the year 2011 had been a semi-hit overseas forced the GM officals to rethink their strategies regarding the Indian Auto market and the finally launched the vehicle on earlier part of this year.. The stylish and sleek SAIL Sedan does have booch power to it and the millage factor as well... The sedan does come in both DIESEL and PETROL variant..

The PETROL version produces about 85 bhp of power and does kind of alot of roar to it.. though the 1200cc engine have that feel of power to it but kinds of lag alot at the high speed , there you need to shift a gear down and punch it flat and shift up .. The floor board does kind of have a little vibrations to it during high revs and becomes noisy at certain portions but the cabin stiffs upto it... the petrol version does have an smooth transmission just like all the other variants of CHEVY but does add a grunt to it too..
The DIESEL version on the other hand is heads-up to the product.. The diesel engine have been developed with the Fiat engineers and have the punch even at the lower revs which Petrol lags.. The reliable diesel engine have been backed alot by its trubo... The trubo really kicks in good when you need it the most and also helps in to set a better ride... The 77bhp of power and 20.9kgm of torque does give up the spike of power... The diesel engine drives the car from 20-80kmph (in 3rd gear) takes just about 12.4 seconds and 40-100kmph (in 4th gear) takes just about 14.3 seconds is enough to tell you that the engine wont let you down...
The Dashboard and The Interiors:-
The spacious cabin of the SAIL Saloon does give that rich mood and also feels alot bigger.. The no non-sense plastic interior is quiet simple and specific to its use.. the upolster to the seat does feels a lot better and the cushioning is also evident both the front rowed and back seats gives you amply amount of legroom and a high head clearance which does feel luxurious ... The dash on the other hand is not upto the car,, it does feel a lot basic and kind of cheap too, the dials do pop out and it does also have a digital tachometer .. The silver Central Instrument panel does lack alot of instruments ... it does have the A/C controls , the Music system with USB connectivity but there is no A/C climate control, ipod connectivity option and doesnot come with a navigation too... Overall the whole interior does kind of feels simple, basic and spacious but like that spark, bling and richness to it.. In total it is a BUDGET LOOKING SALOON
Now lets talk about the boot which makes this car a SALOON,,the SAIL saloon does comes with a impressive boot capacity of 370litres ,, If intelligently packed the boot can hold 4 large suitcases and a bag.. The Triangular large taillamps does look better on this evident boot the boot does feels like a integral part to the whole cars design.. the wheel arcs are also carefully placed just behind the back sit to maintain the ride quality..
The VERDICT
The car looks absolutely brilliant with a well designed body and the 1.2litres petrol and the 1.3litres diesel engine which absolutely compliments the car.. the car really performs well and handles like a dream .. It also provide a amply amount of space and a subtle interior under a great budget.. this car will be a definite hit among tht MIDDLE CLASS FAMILIES of INDIA..
