THE ORANGE FURY IS BACK AGAIN - " THE THUNDERING KTM DUKE 390"

Now you guys might complain that it is bike and this is a 4-wheeler blog and its normal not my suit , but guys what to do after all its a special bike to the Indian market... With the launch of this bike the KTM company has a send a strong message to its competitors that isn't fooling around much.. "Providing fast and safe bikes at an affordable rates to its customers" .. The bike definitely have the killer looks and the racing DNA in it which is a tradition in the company's bikes.... This time the 390 does look much similar to its sibling the 200 , but looking closer you would find a lot of difference... The 390 comes with a sleek and fast design and also have a mammoth engine with 378 cc of displacement a insane amount of torque.. now lets have brief look at the bike and its performance...

The massive 373.2 cc 4-stroke , liquid cooled engine  does  have a big grunt to it .. It sits a bit low to the ground and does a correct proportionate weight distribution which adds stability to the bike and reduces drag too.. The 390 is completely based on the 200 platform but the KTM claims that the 373 cc engine is infact 95% different  from the 200cc engine... This means more engine refinement and better response and much more amount punch... The motor  infact 45bhp of power which is almost twice that of the 200cc engine.... On the other hand the bike weighs just around 17kgs more which means the weight to power ratio is much more large and insane... The bike easily reach around 160 kmph and you can cruise around 120 kmph all day long without any glich in power ... the bike is very agile and can easily transformer its power and can be easily be handled in the city traffic.. The big is very responsive enough low down the rev range which means the sheer raw power of the bike can also tamed  to will .....  Now the 390  has bigger brakes and is also enabled with ABS which means you have safety and the tires are also of MICHELIN tyres instead of MRF which means better grip and ride comfort....



THE LOOKS AND SPECS:-

Well the whole body design aspect of the bike is completely aerodynamic and is very low to the ground... The low sleek design of does reduce drag and helps the bike to corner really with ease and fast... Well technically speaking the 390 is based on 200 so it is really very light and agile and easy to handle and really suited for Indian roads ... Now both BAJAJ and KTM have left no stones unturned to give that extra bit of power and that split second fastness... The bike is definitely a bikers treat but the major catch feature of this bike is that it have the very much agile and fast engine but it is highly safe for the rider...
The narrow and very oddly shaped headlamps is definitely designed to allow air flow the little and pin sharp looking side indicators definitely add that sportyness to the bike and looks descent ... the front suspension is the same provided in 200 the inverted forks.... The key feature which really impressed me is the the orange colored exposed sporty rails....



THE VERDICT:-

Now very few people have actually ridden the 390 , but believe me it is a delight.. The sheer power and grunt with the big brakes and the aerodynamics of the bike is simple out standing and really sets the bench mark for different bikes.. The ride quality is much better now with the help of those superior tiers and the add on ABS to the brakes.. with intelligently priced 1,80,000 this bike is definitely a steal...

MERCEDES'S NEW LUXURY HATCHBACK FOR INDIA :- "THE A CLASS"


The first in its segments The Mercedes A-Class is a luxury hatchback.... In Europe these Luxury Hatchbacks are know as HOT HATCHBACKS.... These kind of cars provide a large punch engine with a big boost which delivers a lot of power on the throtle but still it comes in any hatchback package.... Well the car is every bit of sport integrated in it.... It is alot bigger looking car , having the dimensions as equal to the fiesta saloon the car definitely exceeds the hatchback mark... The shear size means alot less power!!!!!!!! definitely not the case in this car... The car has a mighty V6 engine and have tons of power... The car definitely would blow your mind away with its speed... The real fun starts when you get behind the wheel the car,,.. It really feels big, premium and luxurious...The car has PADDLE-SHIFT gears behind the steering wheel which gives it a sporty feel.... Well for a really big car of this size the 1.6 liter petrol does seem a little under powered... but in the city traffic we wouldnt complain at all as it provide a amply amount of torque ... but in case of empty road you would find the torque a little bit lagging behind around the 3000 rev mark.... The steering is very sharp and responsive, it points the car exactly where you wanted it to go... The body does have a advantage to it, cruzing at high speed due to the weight and low slung body there is absoluately no body role.. The car grips to the road quiet well and holds up in the tight corners.. Though there is a visibility issue for some of the short-height drives as the front mirror is little narrow and the dash sits quiet high... but the rest seems absoluately fine....



The Interiors and Space:-

 Well before talking about the interiors i would like to talk about few more design bits of the car... The most amazing design feature of the car is the GRILL.. It just looks like the galaxy of stars and is really impressive,,, it kind of provide attitude and subtle to the cars design.. The cross body lines of the car takes the car to a whole new level.... The zig-zag body lines provide the aggression to the Merc and makes it look substantially more cooler and youthfully...the back tail gate is also designed great but the rear window is little bit too short which provides less visibility and allows less light into the cabin... the tail lights with bright LED's look really cool and match up with the design really well.... The Mercedes engineers have definitely got the right formula to design the cars for the young generation.... the Mercedes A-Class defies all the aspects of a conventional looking Mercedes and provide the customers with a whole new segment of customers....

 

Now coming to the interiors of the car.... Well the car cars a dark leather upholstery with a dark dashboard which really gives that sportyness and stealth look the car reallt wanted..The car's dashboard sits really high and have all kinds of controls mounted into it ... the sporty silver cross vents looks really cool and expensive with the central control screen sitting on the top of the dashboard really gives you the feeling of a glamours car...there are lots and lots of storage space provided in the car... The steering wheel is mounted with the paddle-shift gear and the A/C , window controls , stereo and bluetooth buttons on the steering wheel really makes the car feel glamourous...

The dails look really sporty and the blue amber glow behind the dials really make it look special and expensive.... There is a digital display with the parking sensors and the climate sensors and full pressure and various other indicators....
The dials do pop out and looks really ambient , clear and expensive...

The seats are really well cushioned and feels really comfortable,, they are big and sporty looking ... The second roow seems a little bit cramped but the leg room is quiet deent comparing to other cars of this category... the dark upholstery does make the cabin space look more cramped and less spacious but does seems to bother much.. There is memory seat adujuster for the drivers seat and the wide panaromic sunroof just makes you a lot happy... The car hos got a great sound system and really keeps you happy all the time.. there is bluetooth connectivity and auxiloury  port for ipads also... there is a bright big display screem which shows almost all informations, from SAT-NAV to FM RADIO and other sensors..all in all the whool cabin space feels worth every penny and does seems fully loaded..

  THE VERDICT:-
The A-Class represents an important milestone for Mercedes-Benz. A completely new class of vehicle down to the last detail, the A-Class has been born out of a clean sheet of paper and sees the German luxury car maker usher into a new class of personal transportation that packs the classic Merc DNA into a smaller, more intuitive package. At Rs 21.93 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai) for the A180 CDI Style model, the A-Class may be priced a tad higher than expected but is still the most affordable three-pointed star you can lay your hands on. MAHINDRA'S RADICAL NEW ANSWER TO THE SUB-4 METER CATEGORY - " VERITO VIBE"


The stunning looking Verito Vibe tends to create a different taste among the Indian consumers.. The SPORTY COMPACT SEDAN is what the critics calling the new Verito, let us see how well it stands up to its name????... Well the first look on the car is not much exciting nor appealing to the eyes.. Well first the oddly chopped boot of the Quanto and now the pushed in boot of the Verito Vibe shows the weak design aspects of the M&M tag... It does look a little bit more aggressive  and does have that small Rally looking car but lags the smooth flow of the body lines... The front-end of the car is a complete different story... The redesigned grill with the integrated M&M logo does looks quiet aggresive and gives the car a Sporty stances ... On the other hand the back-end of the car does looks like a space-ship... Well here we can see the Out-Of-The-Box thinking of the Mahindra's Designers.. The pop up long tail light fussed with the back window and the spilt body boot does tend to mess up with the overall look of the car..The large wheal arch's from the Verito/Logan remains the same in the Verito , the side door panels also carry the same design..The bonnet is however redesigned to allow more aerodynamics to the cars design..The front bumper also does looks big and bold with the flussed in flog lamps and a grill in the middle does kind of looks good....

The new Verito Vibe is launched as a Diesel Motor only.. The Verito Vibe is going to use the same engine as its predecessor Renault's 1.5-Litre K9K unit churning out 65bhp and 160 Nm of torque. The front wheel drive setup will continue and hopefully the great ride and acceptable handling is also remained unchanged.For 65Bhp engine the Vibe performance is good... it really performs great at lower rev range, It is a very drivable engine and really idle for city commuting ....  The throtle response is quiet well but it doesnt have a very good top end speed... You can comfortable cruize around 125 kmph but the punch is absent... Its car really for comfort driving but not sporty... The roboustly built car would encourage you to shift early but the engine dies out at the top end ... The diesel engine is well refined and the cabin is reallyn well insulated from all around noise... The stearing is really very nice and feels very stiff and responsive... the low gear ratio of the 5 speed manual gear box and sporty suspension is the only key to the cars SPORTY feature....
The Interiors and Comfort:-




Well just like the logan or the Verito the interiors of the Vibe is pretty much the same... Same rugged and strong and plain looking interiors to the Vibe... The dashboard doesnot look any exciting or have the richness to it... It does feel heavily built and strong but have that sense of luxury missing in it... The seats look big and outdated but feels quiet comfortable.. The central console to the dashboard sits quiet bellow and does seems hard to reach for the controls...The dials does look poppy and have that orange LED glow in it but still alot more changes would have been acceptable... There is alot of space in the cabin but again the details are missing... The second row can easily have three person (adults) siting quiet comfortably but there is not hand rest in the back seat... The side window pannels does have the power window buttons put into it and looks good... Overall the interiors are quiet dull and improvements could have been made..


Well the Vertio Vibe has quiet a big boot , almost of 330 Litres but the major fault is that it have a really small opening to it... So loading things in and taking things out is going to be a problem... It is really amazing how the boot was really pushed inside the cars design .....

The Verdict:-

Styling is not its greatest strength, but certainly has a good driving dynamics and a comfortable ride. Secondly it has a great milleage and alots of cabin space but it is a bit too costly and more gadgets and safety features could have been added....
Overall it can score only 3 out of 5 stars.......

THE ALL NEW SPORTY AND TRENDY FACELIFT HOT HATCH -" NISSAN MICRA ACTIVE"



Well the all new sporty and the non-cute looking facelift NISSAN MICRA is a serious head-tunner...The previous model of the Micra havent been on the top of the hatchback list since its launch but the NISSAN have promised that it has corrected all those defects in this new model....The Nissan engineers have played alot around with looks of this competative hatchback.. the front grill has been reworked rigorously ... it no more looks CUTE but have that trendy design aspect to it.. It suits the car's look alot better and gives it much more bigger stance..The re-engineered front bumper and the integrated FogLamps gives the car more agression it needed..The body lines have been kept quiet similar but the rear TailLamps have been modified with the LED lamp mountings..The futuristic design scheme by the NISSAN is much welcomed and appreciated a lot..The wheel archs also looks well moulded and the 17inches wheels gives the MACHO look to this car...

The engine which we are concerned over here is the new CVT engine developed by NISSAN..The petrol engine with the new automatic gearbox promises an extraordinary mileage..The 1200cc engine is a absolute pleasure to drive.... it is loaded with features such as the new angular Headlamps, Wider Front Grill with more Air intake... the engine , a 1.2litre SOHC engine is mounted on it to boost a maximum power of 75 PS and a maximum torque of 104 Nm in it... It gives an incredible mileage of 19 Kmpl which is the best in class...Now you may ask that the performance aspect of this motor maynot be that good when it comes to the city traffic but no it rather is quiet impressive in the city roads... The engine does provide you that punch when you want to hit it in an open space and it also provides you that low rev response really adequately...In highways the company has provide you with an interesting offer in this package, THE SPORTS MODE, by flicking a button on the gear shift lever you can kick in the extra boost to your engine when you want to have a little fun.... all in total the engine is a much more reliable and punchy, it is the best the city dewellers can have...



The electronics level in the car is also much appreciable the steering mounted controls adds to the luxury feeling of the car,,it includes the call buttons and the stereo controlls.. The top end variant offers push Start-Stop mechanism with no Key entery droos, it also have 2 airbags... The A/C does have the climate control facility and the stereo also comes with bluetooth and auxillary connectivity.. The dials of the car not that great it does feels a let-down to the cars whole next-gen feeling.. The dials are but old fashioned with only the digital fuel indicator and no led displays..


The Interiors And Comfort:-




Well in comfort the Micra is Nothing less than its big brother NISSAN Sunny.. It feels spacious and have a bit sense of airy to it... the upholstery is top notch and the light interior with its big windows really lifts up your mood.. whats best is the stylling of the seats the back seat does feel a lot bigger and the head rests are really designed very beautifully... the window pannels does have the armrest attached to it... the seats are really well cushioned and does feel really comfortable..
the black toned dashboard with the buldging central console does appeal to the youthness to you..
the A/C vents are well integrated to the dashboard and there are lots and lots space to store
In all the vechile does look and feels Next-Generation and would able to many hot hatch lovers in INDIA...
The boot space is not much but when packed intelligently may fullfill the need...
THE VERDICT:-

LOOKS ALOT BETTER NOW, AVAILABLE WITH THE AUTOMATIC SYSTEM, COMES LOADED WITH FEATURES BUT NOT AS FUN TO DRIVE AS THE SWIFT...

HONDA'S NEW AMAZING SEDAN -"AMAZE"

The HONDA have now amazed us in a whole new level with the launch of "The Amaze".. Built on the Brio platform the styllish new saloon is definetly a buzz-maker.. Now the highlight for this car is that this is also HONDA's FIRST DIESEL car for the Indian market... Definitely the expectations are really high for this car.. The new Amaze promises a whole load of fun with the best in class mileage too ... Amaze will offered both in the PETROL and DIESEL variant packaed with a peppy and economic engine... The Honda Amaze, when launched in April-May 2013, will get both a 1.2litre petrol engine(which is installed on the Brio and the Jazz) and the all new 1.5-litre diesel motor and thankfully,Honda has tunned that prfectly well for the Indian roads. The new Honda's engine delievers 30% more power and best in class mileage than top in class Maruti Dzire.. the honda's new peppy engine is nothing less than a triumph for their company,,,
The 1.5litre DTEC engine completely nontraditional gives 98.7bhp of power ,, the light light engine and body reduces the weight as well as the friction caused by the car.. the ebgine is alot peppy and have that punch of power to it,, but when you really rev it past the 2000rpm mark you can feel the vibrations in the floor board and the pedals .... the engine is slightly tends to lag but not much.. The important factor about the all alluminium engine is that it is the quickest in its class...
The Dashboard and The Interiors:-





As soon as we enter into the Amaze cabin we crealy see the similarities between the Brio and the Amaze... The dash Looks exactly the similar except the AmberGlow in the dials... The dual-tone dashboard is a much more contempory looking and does feel elegant... The seats are been carrying a much sportier look and they are sleek and does gives away alot of space..... The seats are been stitched in dual-tone uplostery and are cushioned really quiet well.. The central console does look quiet sportier,, the music player is good and have the USB connectivity but does not have a CD Player... The A/C vents are quiet well placed and does look like a integral part of the design... there are alot of storage space in and around the cabin and does have & cup holders which gives a good reason to party inside the car...

The cabin is really spacious and does have the open feeling due to the large window panels....The cabin feels airy and luxurious and have alot of space around ... there are a ton of leg room in the second row... At the backseat there is a armrest and can easily accomadate three adults ... their is alot of head room even over a average 6 feet tall adult... overall the whole car does have that party feel and does carry the Honda brand to a all new level... Their is a ton of space in the back boot too if you are planning for a long weekend trip... The 400litre boot space can carry two large bags and two backpacks...
